Beam cladding provides a clean dry aesthetically pleasing solution, by boxing in and sealing the steel beam with special fire rated boarding. The void inside the boarding is then filled with a suitable fire rated product to prevent fire spreading along the void.
This totally hides the steel work which precludes its uses on "feature" steel work. It can also be impractical for use on very complex shapes. The products commonly used in beam cladding are shown below.
