Coated batts are ideal for plugging service penetrations. They can be simply cut to tightly fit the shape of the void and any service penetrations. They consist of a mineral fibre core with an intumescent fire rated coating on each side. In the event of a fire this initially expands then hardens to provide a tight sealed barrier which protects against the spread of fire.
